REVENGE GAME: KRAJISNIK FC – LONE STAR FC MEET IN UPSL FALL OPENER
Krajisnik FC is looking to build off a solid first spring season in the United Premier Soccer League as it squares off with Philadelphia Lone Star FC on the road, 3pm Sunday at South Philadelphia Super Site.
The spring season saw Krajisnik win its inaugural game 2-1 at home with hopes to build from there. Krajisnik would be outscored 7-2 over the course of its next three games though and quickly find itself at 1-3. The ‘Krajisnik Boys’ would go on to split the last four games, finishing the spring season in the middle of the pack and just a game under an even record.
Lone Star FC enjoyed a little more success during its spring campaign. Relying heavily on offense, Philly netted 22 goals over eight games and a 5-1-2 record for a third-place finish in the Northeast Conference’s Empire Division I.
Krajisnik is still finding its identity as it enters the second half of its first full season in the UPSL. Players will look for the likes of Dida Bailey in the goal and Christian Jellue in front of him for a defensive anchor, while guys like Ermin Corbic and Hugues Douyon will be counted on to pace the offense.
This weekend’s game will be a revenge game. The two teams met just once during the spring season, and while Krajisnik outshot the Lone Stars 7-1, it was Philly that ultimately stole the 1-0 victory.
