KRAJISNIK FC THRASHES IN 5-0 HOME-OPENING WIN

UTICA, NY 9/21/19 – Krajisnik FC saw four different players find the back of the net as it easily handled UPSL newcomers Jaguars FC in a 5-0 victory Saturday evening at HCCC’s Wehrum Stadium.

Constant offensive pressure and stout defense was the storyline Saturday evening with Krajisnik outshooting its opponent 11-1. Striker Manny Chanelo laid a beautiful ball off to Justin Ruhimbasa who sent a rocket at the goal, banging off the upper crossbar before coming down for what looked like Krajisnik’s first goal, only for the game to continue without a whistle. There were many close calls in the first half but the two teams went to halftime scoreless.

Krajisnik instantly turned things on in the second half when Center Defensive Midfielder Denis Mostriansky chested down a poor defensive clearance and made the Jaguars pay, firing the ball into the upper-corner of the net. Things got quiet again for a moment before Issak Somow stole the ball on the left side of the field, beat his defender and snuck a right-footed shot past the diving keeper. As the game winded down, the scoring started to pour in. Krajisnik’s Somow displayed beautiful footwork to separate from his defender on the left side and send a cross on the ground that was met by Mostriansky, who put the ball away for his second goal of the match to make it 3-0. Substitute Armin Budnjo contributed minutes later, receiving a pass and finding himself displaying his own fancy footwork, dribbling around the sliding goalkeeper to put Krajisnik up 4-0. Fellow substitute Lawson Jellue concluded the scoring just before the 90-minute mark, going one-on-one with the Jaguars keeper who attempted the sliding save. Lawson rolled the ball over and walked in the dagger.
