Krajisnik Drops Home Finale

Herkimer, NY - Krajisnik FC allowed Mass United to convert three of its seven shots-on-goal and would go on to lose 3-1 Saturday evening in the final game played at Wehrum Stadium in the UPSL Spring Season.

Mass United got things going early, intercepting a pass inside the 18 and capitalizing with a goal into the left corner. United stayed quiet for a majority of the first half until the 41st minute, blowing through the middle of the defense and chipping the ball over a diving Dida Bailey.

The Krajisnik goalkeeper showed off some of the athleticism in the first half that we have gotten accustom to seeing, sliding in on some fancy footwork to make a beautiful sliding save. Bailey would finish the game with two saves before leaving the game at the half with an injury.

Replacement goalkeeper Greg Squire finished the game with three saves, one being from point-blank range 11 minutes into the second half. United would again get the Krajisnik keepers to move off the line though, pulling Squire out in a one-on-one situation and dribbling around the diving attempt, netting the left-footed shot into the empty net.

Krajisnik possessed the ball well, but it was the lack of shots that ultimately hurt them. "We had a lot of great possession," said head coach David Clayton-Price. "We just weren't clinical at the end of the game. We made three big mistakes and they made us pay for them."

An Ermin Corbic cross was deflected into the goal at the 40-minute mark of the second half for Krajisnik's loan goal.
